“My ears whistle and buzz continually day and night and I can say that I am living a wretched life.”
This was once proclaimed by the great composer Beethoven of himself, and I couldn’t sympathize more.

How Did I Get Tinnitus?
A few years ago, I worked in an office that was near a construction site. For a couple of months, I endured the loud noise because there was nowhere else I could be at work. We were overstaffed at the IT firm I worked for and I was just lucky enough to have a space of my own. I had to choose between sharing a space with some random guys from another department or keep my space and endure the noise, which anyway I thought wasn’t really that bad. I chose the latter.
Just a few weeks after the construction stopped, I continue to hear ringing in my ear, it’s like the construction next door hadn’t stopped. When it persisted for more days, I was alarmed and I had to go to the doctor. And that’s when I learned the news that I had tinnitus.
What Causes Tinnitus

In my search for answers, I learned the crucial part that stress plays in tinnitus. In most cases, tinnitus is aggravated by stress. In my case, the mild tinnitus I once had gradually grew louder and louder. It’s only recently I found out that it was due to stress at work. Apparently, prolonged and constant tinnitus is made louder by your physical responses, including anxiety, insomnia, and other stress-related conditions.
- Loud noise is just one of the many things that cause tinnitus. A study revealed that it is the primary cause in 1 of every 4 tinnitus cases. The American Tinnitus Association even reports that 90% of people with tinnitus have also some level of hearing loss due to noise. Tinnitus caused by loud noise is preventable. Had I avoided enduring loud noises for months, I might have avoided preventable tinnitus too. However, it’s better not to dwell longer on the past.
- Prescription drugs are believed to be the second most common cause of preventable tinnitus. Taking various types of prescription and even non-prescription drugs can lead to tinnitus, worsen your existing tinnitus, or create a new type of tinnitus sound altogether.
- Specific foods including cheese, chocolate, certain spices, vinegar, red wine or grain-based alcoholic beverages also cause or increase tinnitus to some people. Other people also need to beware of nicotine, marijuana, monosodium glutamate (MSG), and caffeine. There are also others who discover that eating foods with high sugar content increases the loudness of their tinnitus.
- Oftentimes, tinnitus and hearing loss go together. Tinnitus does not cause loss of hearing, but the other way around. Some sufferers use hearing aid to treat tinnitus, but usually at night when the hearing aid is removed, tinnitus comes back.
- Another cause of tinnitus is allergies. Some people experienced an increase in their tinnitus sound when passing by an area full of dust which heightens their allergies, smell something, or eat something that they’re allergic to.
- Ear conditions can also give rise to tinnitus. For instance, a lot of people, including children, who experience middle ear infection (otitis media) also suffer from tinnitus. However, once the infection clears up the accompanying tinnitus also fades away.
Who Gets Tinnitus?
Tinnitus is a common occurrence around the world. There are at least 17 out of every 100 people affected to some degree by tinnitus. The American Tinnitus Association also estimated that there are about 50 millions of Americans having some degree of tinnitus, with 12 million suffering from the severe form. Most of these sufferers are dealing with the stress the comes with tinnitus.
Can Tinnitus Go Away?
Search the internet for answers to treating tinnitus and you will come up with:
- Avoid loud sounds
- Avoid medications that cause tinnitus
- Control your allergies
- Cognitive therapy counseling
- Biofeedback to control automatic body functions
- Hypnotherapy
But none of these will actually solve your tinnitus permanently, except of course if you want to undergo surgery which is pricey and risky. These are only temporary ways to minimize the effect of tinnitus in your day to day life. Solve the booming sensation in your ear and you will also eliminate the burden that stress brings to your life.
So as I have said above and as I’ve experienced, I found natural relief with Tinnitus Miracle. It’s surprisingly easy to do. And you may be able to experience relief, like I did, in as fast as 1 week. Though it took me a total of 3 months to fully recover from the debilitating ringing sensation in my ears, but that is nothing compared to those years when I suffered from it.
